Vice President, Product Engineering
As Vice President, Product Engineering, Ranji Narine is responsible for leading the enterprise modernization program to enable the Bank’s digital transformation. He was appointed to this position in April 2016. Ranji leads a new team focused on enabling development velocity through the development of technology platforms and products. Ranji is also responsible for developing and executing the enterprise public cloud strategy at the bank.
Prior to joining Scotiabank he served as Vice President of Engineering at Leonardo Worldwide Corporation, a leading digital marketing company for the hospitality industry. Prior to Leonardo, Ranji served as Vice President of Product Development of NexJ Health Solutions responsible for strategic and technical engineering efforts. As a founding architect and employee number two at NexJ, Ranji delivered the technology leadership that helped NexJ grow from a startup to Canada’s Fastest Growing Company in 2012. Throughout his eleven years at NexJ, Ranji held positions of architect, director and senior director strongly leading the technology direction. Ranji graduated from the University of Toronto in 2000 with a Bachelor of Computer Science in Software Engineering. His pursuit and achievement of excellence is long standing as he graduated high school as the top Ontario scholar in 1995 with an average of 100%.
